A warm welcome awaits you. Velvet Amsterdam provides comfortable, quality private rooms for visitors who want to stay on a beautiful spot in the heart of Amsterdam.
The rooms are on the first floor of our four floor apartment in a renovated canal house, which dates from 1930. We have two rooms available: The canal view room is situated at the front of the building and has a lovely canal view, this room has also air-conditioning. The rear room is situated at the quiet rear of the building and is slightly larger. Each room has its own private en-suite shower and toilet and a quality King-Size bed. You will get a set of keys so you can go in and out at any time.We offers many services such as free WI-FI in your room, a free map, a TV with cable television, a mini fridge and coffee and tea facilities. You're also welcome to enjoy the view from our roof garden and to make some pictures. We will be happy to help you if you need any additional services or information.
Our home is located on Oudezijds Voorburgwal 10 in the old, medieval town centre of Amsterdam, only a 5 minutes’ walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Lots of attractions are within a short walking distance, like Dam Squire, the Flower Market, Kalverstraat with all the shops, Nieuwmarkt and the Red Light District. From Central Station you can take local trams and buses and national and international train services. Museum Square (Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh museum) can be reached within 10 minutes by tram number 2 or 5 or in 30 minutes walking. The Anne Frank House is a 15 minutes’ walk.The location is perfect to explore the city.
The Oudezijds Voorburgwal was dug between 1342 and 1380 and is one of the oldest canals of Amsterdam. The canal used to be called Fluwelen Burgwal (Velvet Rampart), referring to the wealthy families that lived here, usually dressed in velvet as a sign of wealth. Almost all the housed have been restored to their original condition. Beautiful examples are the Leeuwenburgh (Lion Fortress) House, just next door. This place was built in 1605 by a Russian merchant from Riga. In the middle gable stone you can see two crossed keys which are the Coat of Arms of Riga. On the left gable stone you can see a fortress (burgh), with a lion’s (leeuw) head sticking out. Only a few steps further is Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder (Museum Our Lord in the Attic). A uniquely preserved seventeenth-century house from the Dutch Golden Age with an entire catholic church in the attic. This Catholic church dates from 1663, when it was prohibited to celebrate mass.

Durch die ideale Lage des renovierten Grachtenhauses kann eine Vielzahl der Sehenswürdigkeiten problemlos zu Fuß erkundet werden. Das Rijksmuseum oder das Van Gogh-Museum sind in 10 Minuten mit der Straßenbahn erreichbar. Sämtliche lokale Busse und Straßenbahnen sowie nationale und internationale Züge fahren vom 5 Gehminuten entfernten Amsterdamer Hauptbahnhof ab. Vom Flughafen Schiphol aus beträgt die Fahrtzeit 30 Minuten.
Zu Restaurants, Bars sowie dem bekannten Rotlicht-Viertel gelangt man schon innerhalb von 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Gäste verfügen über einen Kühlschrank und einen Wasserkocher. Kabelfernsehen und WLAN stehen kostenfrei bereit

Hartelijk welkom in ons huis! Velvet Amsterdam biedt comfortabele kamers van hoge kwaliteit op een schitterende plek in het middeleeuwse centrum van Amsterdam, een paar huizen verwijderd van museum Ons’Lieve Heer op Solder en op slechts 5 minuten lopen van het Centraal Station, de Kalverstraat, de Nieuwmarkt en de Dam. Vanaf Centraal Station is het Rijksmuseum en van Gogh Museum bereikbaar binnen 10 minuten met tram 2 of 5, of je kan deze afstand ook in 30 minuten lopen.
We hebben twee kamers beschikbaar op de eerste verdieping van ons bovenhuis in een grachtenpand uit 1930. Één kamer met prachtig uitzicht over de Oudezijds Voorburgwal, deze kamer heeft airconditioning en één iets grotere kamer gelegen aan de rustige achterzijde van het huis. De kamers hebben elk een eigen badkamer, een king size bed, een koelkast, TV met Digitenne en de mogelijkheid om thee en koffie te maken. verder bieden we gratis WIFI en is er uitgebreide informatie beschikbaar over Amsterdam. U bent welkom om een foto te maken en te genieten van het uitzicht van ons dakterras

Velvet Amsterdam
Velvet Amsterdam está localizado en la vieja ciudad central de Amsterdam, a cinco minutos andando de la Estación Central de Amsterdam. Muchos otros sitios de interés se encuentran cercanos como para ir a pie. El "Museumplein" (Museo Real y el Museo de van Gogh) se encuentra a 10 minutos cogiendo los tranvías número 2 y 5 situados a pocos minutos de su alojamiento. Velvet Amsterdam e’ situato nel centro storico di Amsterdam a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione centrale. La stazione centrale e’ servita da bus e tram locali e da treni nazionali ed internazionali. La maggior parte delle attrazioni turistiche sono raggiungibili a piedi, il Rijksmuseum e il museo di Van gogh possono essere raggiunti facilmente in 10 minuti in tram (numero 2 o 5).
